colt turns one.

a year ago today, you made me an aunt for the second time (becoming an aunt twice within eight days has got to be a record, right? ;).

it was during the night. after waiting in the waiting room for a while, pawpaw and i decided to go to marme and pawpaw's house for a little nap. after sleeping a couple of hours, we got the text from marme saying that mommy was getting closer to having you and to come back to the hospital. i went downstairs and woke pawpaw up--he hopped in the shower and then we were on our way back to the hospital.

as we were approaching the exit to get off the interstate, we got a text saying you were here!

i ran in the hospital, hopped on that elevator, and the nurses couldn't buzz the door fast enough for me and pawpaw to get through. we were so excited to see you!

you were wrapped up so tightly in your mommy's arms. she immediately passed you to me knowing i was aching to hold you and had waited a long time for this moment. you were so handsome (and always will be!). and you know what your mommy did after she passed you to me? she had her makeup bag in her lap and began to touch up her makeup! she's amazing. you were only about an hour old.

colt, uncle doug and i love you so very much! we are praying that you and cousin jojo grow up to love the Lord and always do right.

jojo turns one.

this past weekend, hubby and i traveled to my parents house to celebrate our little niece and nephew turning one year old (our niece's birthday was july 24th and nephew's is august 1st). i cannot believe they are already one year old!

we arrived late friday night. saturday morning, at 9:30, the whole family gathered at mom and daddy's house for brunch (brother, his wife, niece, sister, and nephew, me and hubby, mom and daddy). it was such fun being reunited again. after cleaning up the dishes, we headed to a few thrift stores.

saturday afternoon, we all gathered at the church building to celebrate the birthday girl. aunt angie made the sunshine smash cake. jojo LOVED the clothes she received. after opening a few of her gifts, she got bored and headed to play in the ball pit with her cousins. we ate cake, ice cream, cake pops, and fruit and veggies.

it was a fun day.

8 hours in the hospital waiting room // 1 gas station coffee // 4 youtube videos watched // 8 games of solitaire on the ipad // 1 skype date // 1 trip back home // 1 hour of sleep // 8 days younger than baby cousin #joannaclaire // colt, it was such a joy to await your arrival. let the good times roll!

on august 1st at 5:35 a.m., colt tucker made me a aunt for the SECOND time. he entered the world weighing 8 pounds 5 ounces and 21 inches long. he had (and still has!) a head full of dark hair and beautiful dark skin.

he's perfect.

happy one month, baby colt!

you are such a joy.  you bring this aunt such happiness. i love when i can hog you and just cuddle with you all day.

you still have some nights that you choose to keep mommy and daddy awake--you are a partier. you stay awake most of the time and just look around. you especially like lights and ceiling fans. oh yeah, you like to eat--alot. you love riding in the car and hanging out with marme, aunt marli and mommy on their errands.

 all the faces you make are perfect but my favorite is your grumpy face--but really, you're happy.

oh yeah, and your daddy recently found out that a pacey is your best friend--a lifesaver.

you are growing too fast already.

i can't wait to see the strong man of God that you will be.

this aunt is craaaaazzay about you.

the one who will be a daddy for the first time in july.

the one who is the spiritual leader for his family and is already planning, along with his wife, to train and nurture their children in the Lord.

the one who lives life with tons of happiness and hardly ever has a grumpy day.

the one who i couldn't be more privileged to call "brother."
