seven years.

seven years married to my man. so much has happened in seven years and feels like a lifetime. but then again, it feels like we just got married yesterday. it’s been some of the best years.

babe, thank you for always treating me like a queen and fulfilling my every need. i truly feel so blessed to have you as my husband.

thank you for always putting your family first. thank you for always pointing us to Jesus and making it a priority for your family to be at church every time the doors are open.

thank you for being the best daddy to our kids—the way sis knows she can always have you at her beckoned call and the way bubba wants to always work along side you at the farm & in the yard.

thank you for working so hard + providing for your family—that is one of the things i love about you—your hard work ethic.

thank you for spoiling me today and cooking me those yummy steaks on the grill. they were perfect.

i am forever grateful how God saw fit to put us together—here’s to many more years, babe.

love you.

October 09, 2021

well hi there....again.

 hellooooo there, blog.

wow, it's been a while.

i just finished up reading some old posts and updating my "about me" page and a lot has happened since i have written in this little space.

i started this blog back when i was in high school as a way to document my family's adventures. it was also a creative outlet for me--a scrapbook journal of sorts.

i seriously, considered starting over new...fresh...in these coming days of bringing a blog back to life. but the more i thought about it, the more i was like, NO WAY!

it has seen me through a lot.
high school memories, difficult but good college days, sweet family moments, documenting the weddings of my older brother, younger sister, and my own, newlywed days in an unfamiliar place,....but most importantly, this blog is just filled with a lot of love.
it's a part of my story and i am excited to continue it--here in the same place i started it over 10 years ago.

tomorrow, doug and i will be celebrating SEVEN years of marriage. like, wut. it seems like yesterday i was walking down the isle to that man and promising him forever. that was one of the best decisions i've ever made in my life. the last few posts i wrote on this blog (in 2015) were in some of our newly married days--it's amazing to see how far we've come.

we have also added two kiddos since i last typed on these pages. motherhood is holy hard work. it is what i have always wanted and i am so so grateful i get to live out my little girl dream of being a wife & mama. there are mannnny days that i need grace and forgiveness on this motherhood journey. but i wouldn't trade anything in the world for this journey i am on.

we started our own business. what i always said i would never do, i now do. i have my own business doing network marketing (and all the ugly stares are on me ha!) with young living. i love helping families get started on their journey of ditching toxins in their home and teaching the lifestyle of wellness, purpose, and abundance. these last 5 years, young living and their products have changed our lives and we want it for all our friends too.

we would love for you to join our fun + supportive community here.

residual income is such a blessing and something i will never take for granted. i am so thankful for this opportunity i have to help support our family financially while also staying home + living my dream of being a stay-at-home wife & mama.

we have lived (are living through) some hardships of a pandemic. many have become sick and died which breaks my heart. but what is currently happening here in our country--decisions that our government leaders are now making--mandating things and taking some of our american rights--i fear for ours & our kids future. brave people are taking a stand and many are reaping the consequences because of it.

God is in control and has us in the palm of His hands--that is what i am taking comfort in these days.

many family accomplishments & victories have happened since i last posted. some days are really hard, but i believe we are truly living some of our best days.

this blog is a little space that i hope, will be a small bit of sunshine in the world.

welcome (back) along for the ride.

dear doug, (008) + letters to my husband link-up.

dear doug,

i really love watching you eat. weird. yup. going out to eat with you is on the top 5 favorite things to do with you.
thanks for letting me pick the restaurant even if i did say for you to pick. (ha! ;) i love you)

our one year anniversary has come and gone and we are now officially on year TWO. (whoop! whoop!) year one was even better than i could have ever imagined. you always treat me like a queen and always know how to boost my spirits. i pray i can always be the wife you need. i can't wait to see what the next years bring with you by my side.

i love to hear your dreams and what you want to accomplish in the coming years. you're such a hard worker and you will achieve! God has big plans for you.

thank you for always listening and hearing what i have to say. you always have a listening ear and know what to say to calm me. whenever i'm having a bad day, you are always there to cheer me. knowing that you would stay home from work to be with me just because i'm not having the best of days means a lot to me. (but, thank you for always going to work ;p)

you're the best partner in life anyone could ever have. i love you.

hello everyone! welcome to the eighth week of the letters to my husband link-up.

every other friday, you will be given the opportunity to show your hubby how much you love and appreciate him.

being a new wife, there are many times i don't give my husband the praise that he needs or deserves. this is an opportunity for me to work to be a better encourager and supporter to my husband.

not only will we be able to praise our husbands, but we as wives will be able to read other wives' posts and learn from them. we receive encouragement from reading each other's posts! :)

so let's get started.

here are the rules:

-follow your host and the co-host (if there is one for the month)

-visit and comment on other blogs--don't just share your link and run! be an encourager. :) share the love.

-in your blog post, either share the Letters to My Husband button or link back to this post on your blog.

-have fun and don't forget to spread the word using #LettersToMyHusbandLinkUp.

dear doug, (007) + letters to my husband link-up.

tractor racing with hubby and a brother.

dear doug,

who-hoo! ONE YEAR. tomorrow will mark one year of being your WIFE.

this past year has been filled with all kinds of happiness and adventures. you're always, in a way, taking me on an adventure. and you know what? i would not want to be doing this adventure called LIFE without anybody except you. i love you.

i cannot wait to go to Patti's and pig out on gigantic pork chops with you. i am totally-way more excited about that than diving into our year-old wedding cake topper. (although i am pretty pumped about tasting cake--no matter how freezer burned it is. ha!)

picking out pumpkins for the first time together will be SUUUPER fun and i can't wait to see your taste in pumpkin-picking. ;) will it be a tall one? short one? fat one? small one? i'm sure it will be the perfect one.

cannot wait to see what year two will bring! you're awesome.

i love you,

your babe.

dear doug, (006) + letters to my husband link-up.

dear doug,

i am so thankful to be doing life with you.

sometimes, i pinch myself to make sure this is real. you are so good to me.

the other night when i fell asleep on the couch and you went and took all the pillows off the bed (which is A LOT ;) and turned our oil diffuser light on before coming to get me to come to bed, that was another one of those moments i fell deeper in love with you. you're so sweet to me.

i admire your diligence on checking on better job opportunities to better our future. i love your want to achieve even more than you have already. i pray everyday that i'm the supportive wife you need to help you conquer. we can do this!

i will miss you big time this week as i visit family. just be ready for me when i come home.

i love you soooooooo much!
